Pour resembles a burnt-apricot puree topped with a good-sized white head with lasting retention.
The aroma is a tropical fruit smoothie loaded with overripe ingredients, featuring peach, passionfruit, and mango most prominently. A delicate tartness also makes an appearance toward the end.
This hits the mouth like a tart glass of juice, pulpy and all. There's passionfruit, grapefruit, mango, peach, and even some orange, most of which are pretty consistent with the nose. There is also a slight soothing effect, possibly influenced by the guava, that also tempers the sour factor nicely.
The mouthfeel is incredibly juicy, but with medium-sized body that is both creamy and carries the beer's tartness throughout.
Quite an introduction to the style on my end. Fresh, fruity, creamy, and very approachable. I wouldn't mind taking a deeper dive into the sour side of things after this one.
