Canned on 11/7/18
Pours an opaque purple-magenta topped with over a finger of fluffy pink rose-colored head; foam recedes fairly quickly, leaving a ring around the surface and a thorough wall of lacing that disappears quickly, as well.
Aromas of well-defined, almost creamy sweet blackberry topping overarching fruit salad tones and a faint lactic tartness, which is then followed by thicker, more defined notes of wheat; really nice overall bouquet that delves into some brief but beautiful fruity notes while giving plenty of attention to the tart and wheaty elements along the way.
Tastes of fruit salad and more herbal tartness has it builds to the brighter blackberry notes; bits of fermenting peach skin on the back end alongside plenty of wheat and hints of that pilsner malt lingering through the finish.
Mouthfeel presents a dense and yet somehow lighter medium body, showing a great balance of earthy grit and juicy fruit notes. Consistent throughout, with balanced carbonation and an acidity refreshing and tempered by the density of the profile on the palate.
Refreshing fruited Berliner that toys with some truly complex notes while ultimately committing primarily to a nuanced, simpler approach; a friendly acidity and clean display of its flavor profile has this one going down smoothly while also giving you a bit to think about.
