From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This session red ale
pours a nice medium dark brown tinged clear red with a nice head of
white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin light pool, and showcases some nice
light lacing. Nose of sweet brown sugar malts and little else. Flavors exceed the
rather muted nose with brown sugar malts and a light breaded malt note that rides
with a lightly herbal hop note on the rear with a touch of dark fruited notes of subtle
cherries on the finish. Overall, it is a decent ale that is almost border line Scottish ale.
That said it could use a touch more character.
Cheers
