The appearance was a murky brown color with a fair finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off fairly quick. The aroma had a decent blend of sweet and roasty nuts to a gentle clean caramel/toffee malt base. Some dried leaves, light earthiness, grassiness, leather and dough slide in for a decent balance. The flavor leaned into some of the sweet, and kept the roastiness somewhat at bay. Earthiness and grassiness has a milder taste in this department. Aftertaste leans into the nuts and malts, somewhat sweet. Finish was sweet with some roast. The feel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a tad under. Fairly sessionable with an even keeled carbonation keeping the ABV as directed by the brewer. There’s some dryness scaling my tongue but not too abrasive. Overall, for the most part, it’s a pretty good brown ale that I think I could come back to if I ever got the chance.
