This beer pours with a huge head that lingers for a very long time. The beer itself is a medium amber-brownish color with fairly apparent carbonation, the beer is relatively clear.
The nose is a bit boozy, definitely some maltiness in there, and just a hint of carmelized sweet dates.
On the taste I get carbonation bubbliness up front (this beer is perhaps overly carbonated) and quit silky on the tongue, very smooth mouthfeel. After the initial bubbliness there is some sweet malt that gradually fades into a mildly bitter hop flavor. Not terribly complicated, and a bit boozier than I prefer, but a solid beer.
A very nice nod to Ellsworth's 150th anniversary.

Appearance: bright gold in color, 1/2 inch head, medium carbonation, clear
Smell: toasted malt and caramel
Taste: toasted malt, English toffee, light chocolate, and caramel
Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation, medium body, sweet with slight bitterness
Overall:A solid English style beer that I enjoyed a bomber of. I could be wrong about the style, but it tasted very good. One of the better beers I have had from Atlantic.
