I’m embarrassed to admit but this is a great beer. On the front end you taste the sour of the Keylime then afterwards you continually taste the crust which adds to the appeal of this sour beer. Can’t believe it’s 6.5%

Helping us all through the economic slowdown that's associated with the COVID-19 shutdown, the brewers are rolling out a bright, sunny and racy sour ale to get us through the slump. Laden with copious lime additions, there's a taste of sour desserts in this glass as well.

Pouring lemony bright and with a veil of haze, Unemployment Lime builds a light and airy white froth. Its tantalizing aroma is breaming with sweet and sour lime notes along with underpinnings of berry, cider and wine. Gentle on the palate, a mild taste of pastry dough and cream of wheat begin to buffer the early palate from the sourness.

But as the ale races across the middle palate, the sourness wins over, washing away any lingering malt sweetness. Leading with the expected lime flavors, the complement of chardonnay, dry french cider and gooseberry reinforce the lime sourness as the acidity is pleasantly puckering and appetizing.

Light in body, the beer does retain a mild sweet and cereal creaminess to keep the ale rounded and balanced, finishing with a key lime pie character with a mojito twist. A brief aftertaste of sourdough and burlap keeps the taste grounded on the ale side of taste
