From a 500ml can dated BB 20 10 2026. Poured into a pilsner glass. A huge four finger head that diminished to a thick layer on clear straw. Some fine lacing.
Corn in the nose. A metallic taste right off the bat. not good. More corn. A bit thin. A moderately bitter finish.
A medium/light body and good carbonation. Overall not great.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 500mL in a nonic pint glass. From my favourite but now closed The Beer Store on Goyeau St. in nearby downtown Windsor. My first beer from the Posnan, Poland brewery. My edition is 4.8% ABV...

Golden color, nice white head. Aroma of grain with grass. Taste malty, bittersweet. Short aftertaste. Drinkable, but not much else to add here. A simple lager.

Meh, another typical European lager which I do not care for. This may be a better example of it but it's still a style I do not really enjoy. Better because it's not as funky as others.

Reviewing after a Pilsner Urquell, let's see how Lech compares.
Bottle is kind of boring, not many interesting animals or princes.
Above average head level. Maybe a little watery look, but totally ok. Musky malty aroma, a little hops.
Pretty good bitterness in the taste. But it is very simple and not much is happening. Taste lasts for a few seconds and it's pretty thin too. But during the first 5 seconds, it's quite good. Also ther eis a kind of metallic, tinny taste that engulfs everything. But at least it's not sweet.
The mouth feel is rather effervescent as opposed to full and complex. This is especially easy to detect after a Pilsner Urquell. This is ever ever so simple, but at least the bitterness is good. There are some tastes of skunk, olives and prunes. This is cheap, but it's only 40 pence more for a Pilsner Urquell. And Tyskie, Lomza, Namylow and Perla Chmielowa are all better than this.
Oh and it says "Premium" on the label. A great sign that it isn't. Lower overall marks therefore.

Purchased at Chas Cole Cellarbrations in Geelong in July 2024 and drunk a month later.
L: Crystal clear, golden yellow with abundant carbonation roaring up the glass to the thin, bright-white head.
S: The beer's aroma is sweet, with dry crackers, the slightest aroma of soapy, floral hops, and a touch of sweaty, overused yeast.
T: The taste is the classic overly sweet Eurolager profile, with thin, crackery malt and a thin, dry, and watery finish. What bitterness there is hides ashamedly in the corner, giving out the slightest floral, perfumey note. The lack of bitterness, combined with an overly sweet body and thin finish, makes this something of a chore to drink.
M: Despite the bubbles streaming up the glass, the carbonation is barely there. The mouthfeel is thin and watery, as per the taste notes.
O: This was not a pleasure to drink. If this is indicative of a Polish premium lager, I'd hate to see the budget stuff.
Cheers!

500ml bottle split between tumblers. 15.04.2025.
Pours crystal clear light brass color, big head, lots of active carbonation. Smell is lager skunk, some honey sweetness, lots of yeast.
Taste is stronger skunk, stronger honey sweetness, stronger yeast.
Mouthfeel is not quite light enough. Overall...not a fan.

Alright NOW it starts making sense what an European Lager is, quite ironically after 20 odd years. Well, the thing is that I have been avoiding them for over a decade or more but anyhow, the kind of impression I had of them before just fell into place.
European lagers are different from German and Czech lagers. They have a distinct aroma and flavor that are not all that pleasant all the time - on the contrary, they are infamously sickening sometimes. Usually brewed in countries where beer does not have such a tradition like in Germany, Austria, Czech and Slovak republics - it helps to narrow it down to the rest of the countries but I would say it is mainly an Eastern-European thing.
I immediately knew when sniffing into this that what I am dealing with was an European Lager. Luckily though, it didn’t taste that foul and it felt quite okay. It was on the bitter side but wasn’t overcarbonated and hopefully had no corn or anything added because it tasted acceptable.
It was surprisingly okay and I give it an overall number 4 because I expected much worse. Better than Zywiec, if it makes any sense.

Drunk at Adega Sports Bar in Poznan (Poland) while watching Athletic Club Bilbao vs. Cádiz.
-As usual in Polish beers, almost no foam.
-Rye bread smell.
-Taste is pretty regular Pilsener.
-Doesn't leave a lot of aftertaste.
Regular brew. Nothing out of the chárter.

"Best by 10/21/22"; drank 5/8/22 @ the Yarchives.
See-through pale yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; strong, frothy lace.
Cracked wheat, some skunky funk & mild corn notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Dry corn, skunky funk & cracked wheat flavors.
Crisp, but a bit off-putting.

500ml can into a pint glass. Best by 1/28/22, so plenty fresh.
Decent look. Clear pale golden yellow body. Small white head shrinks to a thin ring, no lacing.
Faint sweet malty aroma.
On tasting, pretty lightweight, though can just about detect both a malt and hop presence.
Mouth between light and medium, finish quite dry with a bit of an aftertaste.
Overall, seems like a mid range euro pale lager. Not terrible, but not a whole lot going for it either
