I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: totally black with a thin finger of dark tan foam that leaves a nice lace on the glass. I like it.
Smell: roasty and rich malt with a big chocolate element and a grassy, fruity hop character. I quite like it.
Taste: sweet with a big, green hop character. The roasty, sweet and chocolatey elements are secondary, but quite nice.
Mouthfeel: rich body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: moreso than most examples of the style, this beer really works for me. Good stuff!
