Poured from a 473ml can.
Not a good example of a NEIPA.
I ended up dumping 3/4 of it.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Feb 13 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a relatively clear golden colour, sporting nearly two inches of dense, foamy white head that melts away over the next four or five minutes. A half-inch curtain of even lace clings to the glass, with a creamy collar and sudsy cap holding steady on the surface - looks great to me. The nose consists of grapefruit and honeydew melon, with suggestions of lemon and wheat.
Nothing exciting to report, but it tastes fine. There's a respectable malt base that supplies some bready, wheaty sweetness, supporting notes of lemon, grapefruit and stone fruit. Finishes with some very lightly floral hop bitterness, as hints of lemon and melon gradually dissipate into the aftertaste, which trends dry-ish. Medium in body, with assertive carbonation that lends some frothiness to this brew's smooth, soft mouthfeel. Quaffable for sure, but also a little tame and inoffensive.
Final Grade: 3.71, a B grade. Moosehead's Small Batch East Coast IPA is exactly what I've come to expect from an IPA produced by a macro beer corporation. Specifically, it's competently brewed and totally free of flaws, while also being very safe and not at all memorable. I could feasibly drink this beer on a regular basis - and since I like to support Canadian businesses (and I'd like to see Moosehead continue this series), I might very well do that, for however long it remains in stock. But at the end of the day, there are *so* many other Canadian IPAs that blow this out of the water... and I'd rather be drinking one of those.

Pours cloudy peach with a chunky, everlasting head. The aroma is of melon. grass, tropical fruit and grainy pale malts. The taste is of apricot, pineapple, mango, lemon hop notes and bready, chewy malts. The mouthfeel is full bodied with lots of creamy carbonation. Medium bitterness in the off dry finish.
A malty IPA with a great hop profile that's on the approachable side. Better than expected with some good hop dankness.
