poured from a 16oz can into a FFF DLD nonic pint glass. pours daily dark red with a three-finger dirty white foam head. piney hops and caramel malts on the nose. taste follows with some additional spicy rye malt flavors in the mix. pretty thick, sturdy mouthfeel with a nice carbonation to it. another nice beer gifted to me by my parents’ friends. thanks to them!

Unknown vintage; drank 3/21/16 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque red appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; strong lace.
Mild notes of caramel & orange citrus in the nose; faint traces of vomit (!).
Medium mouthfeel.
Mild caramel & faint orange citrus flavors up front; a slight rye bite on the lips during the finish.
Boring; at least the faint vomit smell wasn't present in the flavor!!

Tasted in a snifter from a 1 pint can on November 22, 2017. Featuring a combination of caramel malts, with spicy notes from the rye, balanced with the citrus flavor of American Cascade and Amarillo hops.

I tried this beer at my boss house. It poured a hazy amber with white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent was faint malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink but not much going on. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's an ok beer.

A - very cloudy ruddy-brown color with a creamy tan head
S - bread crust, caramel, spicy & earthy rye, fruity hops, citrus: marmalade on rye bread perhaps
T - earthy and spicy rye couple with bready caramel malt for a malt forward ale. Hops add a citric and piney bitter bite
M - medium body, moderately bitter, dry finish
O - pretty decent amber/red rye ale. I can think of a couple like this that I prefer over this one. Glad to try this one from a new brewery to me. I'll have to look for more of their beer in the future.
