Celestial (Figgy Pudding)

12 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 10/26/23, had 12/2/24.

Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a half inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, orange peel, some bourbon, some fig and chocolate, light vanilla. Flavors of bourbon, roasted malt, orange peel, fig, chocolate. Has a light herbal bitterness. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.

While not a knockout, this was quite enjoyable. A wealth of aromas, and almost as many flavors. Very well done.

Black/brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice, noisy dark tan head; a thick curtain of lacing remained.

Fig, orange peel & chocolate brownie notes in the nose.

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Fig & caramel flavors up front; orange peel notes on the finish. Booze heat emerged as this warmed.

Sticky & sweet; it's mildly enjoyable but a few ounces is enough.

Dark pour, not much of a head. Aroma is chocolaty, coffee, booze. Definitely fig and orange peel. A bit too sweet, but tasty.

Shimmering lighter black body, tan head. Smells captures the orange more than the fig, with vanilla, chocolate, earth and char all mixed into the strong bourbon barrel. So in the taste, the orange and bourbon barrel are great, fig is way sweet though, caramel, darker bakers chocolate and booze leakage create a stout that has high highs, but finishes back to earth in a whimper of booze compared to the euphoria of it all meeting in the middle. Still, we will always have that moment! Feel is the issue as the barrel feels too strong for these adjuncts and even more so the base stout, holds this back. Still a worthy sipper for Christmas time
