Clear golden orange color with a pleasantly strong white head. Great retention, and some lacing even on the shaker pint glass it came in. According to the server, Eske's grows their own hops, and they appear in abundant quantity for this brew. Nose is plenty hoppy, even through the cap, with only a tell-tale note of soapy brewing salts to take the edge off the quality. Low-scale brewing often keeps this DIY note, and although the overall impression does not suffer, I did take a half point off the nose.
The flavor is quite pungent with hops, both citric and with a nice piney edge. Everything in Taos seems suffused with this piney outdoors quality, so it fit nicely with the aesthetic. I enjoyed Harvest quite a bit, and would certainly get another, and other patrons commented loudly on the relative quality of this beer as compared to others at the restaurant (some of them were also consuming a great quantity, leading me to further believe their recommendation). Harvest IPA finishes a little bit soapy and thin, so points off there, but the clean aftertaste with just a little lingering bitter pine note was spot-on and kept me coming back. Solid little beer here.
