Black bodied with a creamy tan head. Roasted grains, softly burnt toast, cocoa and carob detected in the smell. Medium bodied -- smooth and rich. A very nice bittersweet taste overall with a mild alcohol warmth noticeable.
An excellent, well-balanced imperial stout. I have no idea how long they've been producing this, but it is a definite treat for stout/porter/dark beer fans.
Note on availability: only a guess. I don't live in Taos and didn't ask the server what the future plans are for this beer.
