L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and an opaque consistency. There was a small amount of foamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Not a lot of lacing.
S: A big, very enticing aroma of hazelnuts, coffee, roasted malt, and coconut.
T: Like the aroma, the flavor is big and brash: A fair amount of roasted malt, a couple of different kinds of nuts (hazelnuts, macadamias), light hops lots of coffee, coconut, and light chocolate notes. A powerful, complex, sweet and balanced taste. It definitely doesn't disappoint.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Full-bodied.
O: This is a beer that succeeds on every level. A well made, easy to drink stout.
