Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a brown color with a tiny fizzy white head of foam. The head fades almost instantly, leaving a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a roasted malt and toasted bready smell mixed with a little bit of a nuttiness as well some caramel sweetness. Along with these flavors comes notes of molasses and a bit of harvest fruit.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasted and toasted malt flavor mixed with a little bit of caramel and molasses sweetness. As the taste advances the sweetness fades a bit all while some light nut and more roast and toast comes to the tongue. With a little bit of earth and herbal flavors joining in at the end, one is left with a nice toasty and roasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and carbonation. Overall, the feel is pretty good for the style and makes it easy drinking.
Overall – A rather decent amber ale/bock. Easy drinking and flavorful, without being too sweet or malty.
