Hazy sunset yellow. White head with lace.
Has an onion and garlic flavor I can't get over. Outside of that, it is decent. Some juice flavors and some melon. Earthy and piney.
Some bitter and stickiness.
Got better after I had a few sip.

So excited to find this NH Gem! Hazy true NE Juice Bomb, hazy with finger foamy head. Aroma Citrus, grapefruit. Insane lacing. Creamy mouthfeel, grassy notes. Best NH IPA by far IMO

I would be cautious when reading earlier poor reviews. There was a filtration issue months ago so some reviewers may have received the bad batch which caused murky and smokey tones.
I thought I'd give this beer another fair try with a fresh batch from garrison.
The smell is delicious. Heavy citrus and tropical fruit are instantly noticed with a bit of floral. The taste is similar with more of a candied fruit flavor, citrus, and a bit of a spicey pine aftertaste.
They really nailed it with this batch of khaos and hopefully will continue the same quality.

This is the third or fourth beer that I've tried from Garrison City. This is from a can dated 1/27/16 that I purchased at the Tuckaway Tavern. I've gotten some Crowlers there before. This is a 16oz tall boy. I'm sensing a trend in flavor that I think is going for dank, but, to me, comes off as heavy and on the oily side of overpowering. Now, I loves me a dank hop-bomb (say, something aggressive from Stone, like the Enjoy By series) and this beer is indeed generous with the hops, but it's not really coming together here. The lingering heavy bitterness at the end is not offset by any interesting smell up front or the initial smoky flavor that is somewhere between light motor oil and the resin licked from a white pine tree. Too long a boil and too little finishing hops in the whirlpool for the nose? I don't know, but the smokiness just ruins it. They're on to something, and I'll keep trying, because I think they are trying something different, but I wouldn't mind a tweak for a better nose to balance the dank side. All the best to them.

From a 16oz. can, dated 01/29/16, served in an imperial nonic.
Pours a super-cloudy burnt-orange with a two-finger thick and creamy head of lush foam. Pretty good retention and heavy, loose lacing.
Smells of vanilla, ginger and melons, new hay and fresh bread. Very appealing.
Taste follows the nose, with pear and tropical fruits. A solid malt base anchors a unique and complex hop profile with a funky, understated there-and-gone-again bitterness.
Feel is smooth and creamy and amply carbonated.
Overall, this is an excellent DIPA! Note that there is NO evidence of that nasty burnt-string smokiness which plagued their brews in 2015! Seek it out, buy it, drink it! Come back and give it another try - This latest run will not disappoint.
