16 oz can dated 7/26/17 (3 weeks old)
Pours a cloudy to opaque brownish orange color - kinda like old pineapple juice. one finger silky head with great rings and retention.
Aroma is vaguely fruity , a little piquant with citrus, possibly a little peach is there. Tough to say because I think I have waited too long before opening it and the delicate hop aroma dissipates rather quickly with GC beers I have found.
Taste is seltzery and refreshing with a muddle of thin hop flavor up front. This gives way to a surprising bitter and bready malt flavor midway through that sticks to the finish. I am not a fan of the aftertaste, though this might have been different fresh off the line.
Feel is fairly light and crisp and full of seltzer. The moderate to high bitterness lingers in the mouth. Not too alcohol-y despite the relatively high ABV.
Overall I am a little disappointed in that I know many of their beers lose their hop flavor quickly. So I don't know if I am getting the correct or desired flavor out of it or if it is essentially "skunked". Really is a shame - I wish they could get these flavors to last a little longer. I am not is the market for immediately consuming what I buy. Unfortunately I have to mark down the stats because it is not really that remarkable of a beer 3 weeks out.
If I can score a can fresh again I'll re-rate.
