16 oz can dated 6/20/17
Pours a thick 3 finger head that settles down into a lumpy cluster of big bubbles. Cloudy to opaque. Color is a murky orange brown, kinda like dirty pineapple juice. Not a very visually appealing pour.
The aroma quickly makes up for this with solid floral stone fruit notes.
The taste follows the smell with a pleasant up front blast of honeysuckle and apple blossom tones mixed with maybe some nectarine and peach. This is really an interesting flavor that is unique to me. It works so well. Of course there is a sweet malt behind it but the honey tones indicate something else is going on. The finish is dry and floral and leaves a nice tingle to the tongue along with a satisfying buzz to the sides of the tongue with the sweetness.
Feel is smooth and creamy with the slightest bit of seltzer. Very low bitter going on - almost absent from this one.
This was my pick of the sampler at the brewery so I got 4 cans - I don't regret that decision. The flavor combination is masterful on this one. There are some Citra tones that I don't like and I feel like those have been crafted to blend with the other flavors into something better than the parts. This is well worth the try and at 5.2% you can afford to have another.
