Pours a dark, murky and opaque orange brown - not the most appealing color for a beer. Relatively thin head but silky and coating the sides completely - makes up for the color a little
Aroma is pungent with malt and citrus hops, maybe a little spice. It has that "fresh out of the vat", hot hop smell that many of GC's beers take on
Taste is alcohol-y up front with a nice citrus and tropical hop flavor mixed in. The malt flavor is muted and not very heavy, not too sweet, balancing out the hops well.
Feel is dominated by an alcohol burn set against a creamy smooth body (flaked oats likely).
Overall it's a pretty good DIPA but I feel the flavor is very muddled... odd that it looks muddled too. I think I will call this one pedestrian and would skip this one in favor of other DIPAs when it came down to it.
