16 oz can pours a rich amber orange colors with a small cap of fizzy light tan-colored head that fades to a thin layer. Faint aroma of toasted malts and a little hops. Taste is heavy on toasty malts and caramel flavors with a slight sweetness. Closes with a small bitterness that trails into a bitter aftertaste. Light body and an almost thin, watery feel with little carbonation mouthfeel.
Brewery says it's like a Märzen lager but brewed with rye malts alongside the normal ones. I thought it was decent, but I probably wouldn't drink again; It's definitely missing something. Feels like it should go more the traditional Märzen route, or lean more towards an American amber, or go more fully into the experimental territory. What it is now just isn't very memorable nor interesting.
