Paris 1/4 2026. 33 cl bottle from CarreFour. Rue de Bercy, Paris. 12e Black label in the usual brand design for La Chernue.

Pours clear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing

Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with sour grains and yeasty fumes. Pale malts and bread. Moldy cellar and alcohol.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a tart bitter undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is rather dry.

Decent Blonde with a rather strong sweetness.

Bought from a Carrefour store with an impressive selection for a supermarket, this is a good table ale and highly recommended for a try.

First of all, it is a pretty pale and inviting. While it Smells average (mostly malt), its Tastes are balanced by just enough by hops to counter the sweet. This, of course, lets the food play their important role at the table. Not quite medium-mouthed. Because there is a slightly off finish, you want to drink this with food.

I buy this in 50cl cans from the supermarkets. It is inexpensive. They have added an orange zest or some other orange flavour which I like. It is an average, affordable, refreshing blonde that is perfectly pleasant to drink.

33 cL bottle poured into a tumbler in Toulouse, France. Sketchy little foam rapidly dissipates. Nothing pops out on the nose. Taste is a miserable little sugar bomb, zero character. Mouth is thick and quite sugary, low carbonation.
Overall, septic sludge, overpriced, underwhelming.
