On tap at the brewery in Little Rock. Served in a snifter.
A: Pours a brilliantly clear golden/yellow color. A two finger white head forms with excellent retention and good lace.
S: Bready malts, bitter grassy hops. Light phenolic spice, but I really wish there was more yeast character here.
T: Like the nose, the bready malts and grapefruit and grassy hops are pleasant. The faintest amount of phenolic yeast lingers, and again I wish the yeast was much more prevalent.
M/O: A light body that is crisp, effervescent, and smooth at the same time. Pleasantly dry as well. Really easy and enjoyable to drink. Something I can come back to again and again, even if it is not perfect for the style.
This is similar to the Bare Bones Pils, with a touch of phenolic spice. Which I love the Pils, but not a lot distinguishes the two. The big downfall is the lighter yeast component here. Bring that out, and this is a real winner. As is, really enjoyable to drink, if not what I am looking for in the style.
