Cloudy red violet, smells of grape and red wine, tastes of a beer/wine suicide. Medium carbonation. I like beer and wine and cider. This has attributes of all three, therefore I like this too. Cheers!

Pours a very effervescent purple with a thumb of pink head. No head retention or lacing
S: Currant & cherry, nice nose
T: Follows the nose, dryness a little lime, tartness as well up front. Tart cherry & currant as this warms. Finishes tart and a little dry with a touch of cherry sweetness
MF: Medium body, delicate carbonation that flattens out a bit too much
Delivers on the featured flavors but just not that interesting a beer. Drinks almost like kool-aid sans sugar

For the style, which is wide-open, Currant Mood is a worthy choice, especially if you like your fruit beers on the bone-dry and tart side. Far from an alco-pop. Like a hard seltzer but with color and body. Pretty color, decent head, and nice pleasant aftertaste. I don't know the base style, but I guess it is somewhere between American Wheat and Berliner Weiss.

12 oz can, best by 3/11/20 (oops)
Boiler THAT! snifter
pours a really murky burgundy color with a creamy pink bubble gum head of 1 finger, receding to 1/2 finger and leaving gorgeous lace.
Aroma is funky and deep and what I'd say is some sort of black currant cherry limeade. This element of limeade really helps the beer pop in an otherwise murky profile. The murk isn't off putting though, it's like the most pleasant yeast trub I've smelled outside of a NE IPA. It's fruity and barnyard-y, with elements of dough and even more black cherries. I'd say it's a solid 4.
Flavor is acidic and lacking sweetness and depth of fruit but is amazingly easy to drink. I get the unsweetned limeade right away, with some mineral water and black cherry fuddled with currants. Slight lime peel on the finish. It's hard to put a finger on exactly what this tastes like and smells like, but it just is. It's funky and semi-sweet and murky.
Feel is really nice and light, while retaining a thick body and some good creaminess. It's just like, the most sessionable creamy beer I've ever had.
Overall, it's an enigma, because it's not really blowing my mind but I love it in some sort of strange way. It lacks sweetness, it lacks fruit prowess, and it's not particularly well crafted. However, it is so enjoyable to drink that it's hard to hate it. I like it a lot, and I think I'd sweat a few bullets over whether to buy a 4 pack if I saw it in the flesh again. Solid toe-to-the-line-buy-again-maybe beer.

Great seasonal choice. Kinda fruity but smooth
