On tap at Common Roots Brewing in South Glens Falls, NY.
This one pours a pretty dark black, with a very small head, and no lacing.
Smells like creamy vanilla beans and vanilla frosting, chocolate fudge, and light fruitiness.
The vanilla comes through really nicely in this one, sweet, but not overly so, like a well made vanilla frosting. There's also lots of chocolate, almost feels like they added some, but I know they didn't. There's a hint of roasty bitterness to keep it from being too sweet, which is quite welcome. This is just a well constructed stout all around.
This is medium bodied, pretty chewy, with a good level of carbonation for the style.
Common Roots is really killing it lately- good stuff here.
