A Milk Stout version of our Double Coffee Stout. Rich flavors of chocolate, espresso, and cocoa are attributed to the specialty roasted malts, while additions of lactose provide notes of vanilla ice cream. Cold brewed coffee from Kru Coffee Roasters introduces nuances of blackberry and walnut.

Deep brown headless pour with a strong roasty nose. The beer equivalent of coffee with milk and sugar. There is some nuance here too. Chocolate, espresso, vanilla ice cream and berry flavors blend in. Might be a tad too sweet but still, a very nice effort.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate are present in the nose along with notes of coffee beans.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of coffee beans are more pronounced compared to those of the chocolate. As the beer begins to warm up notes of lactose become perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. As the beer warms up the mouthfeel rounds out and becomes a little smoother.
O: The lactose in this beer isn't that noticeable until you let it warm up so if you drink it quick it's more a stout than a milk stout.

Pours dark. Dark brown foam. Strong coffee aroma. Big rich coffee body. Creamy and smooth. Slightly sweet. Good bitter coffee finish. An excellent milk stout.

Dark brown silky appearance with a sparse tan head that recedes slowly to a collar, low retention, minimal lacing. Coffee and mild milk chocolate notes. Moderate body, light carbonation.

True to its name and style. Very nice!
