A: Poured from the can into a Tree House tulip. Body is hazy light-golden with a big (1.5 finger) foamy white head that leaves behind curtains of lace.
S: Nose jumps out of the glass (I'm guessing this beer is *very* fresh, as I've never seen it before and it hadn't been entered here until now). Think juicy tropical fruit in particular - mango, passion fruit, papaya and a touch of pineapple all come to mind.
T: Follows the nose, with pineapple, papaya, lime (and lime zest) and finishing with a bite of pine or even pine sap. Tasty. Lingering piney bitterness remains on the palate, encouraging that next sip. Some warmth noted in the belly, but alcohol isn't really evident on the palate.
M: First impression was that this was a little "thin" in body, but after a couple sips, I don't necessarily feel that's the case anymore. Surprisingly active carbonation for a juicy NEIPA.
O: This is quite good. I've had a number of solid IPAs from Common Roots in recent months (years?), so I'm always willing to try their stuff - especially since they're relatively local, and their prices are pretty good (this 4-pack was $14.99). Recommended.
