I'm trying this at the brewery. It an opaque dark with tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and hints of chocolate presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent porter.

Served to me in an 8 oz. stange style glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color that's not interested in letting in any light whatsoever. Has a dark tan/light brown head when first served that settles eventually to a thin ring lining the inside of the glass, but with excellent lacing. Aromas of roasted malts along with ogre and dark chocolate notes that give way to some black coffee and dark chocolate bitter notes. The taste is pretty much the same, with roasted malts and roasted black coffee and dark chocolate bitterness that also has a hint of sweetness. Follows with an earthy, resinous hop presence that adds just a touch more bitterness. Has a slightly prickly, slightly oily, crisp, somewhat smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel. This one really coats the inside of my mouth and likes to linger for awhile. A good representation of this style.

4 Oz pour on tap into small pint glass

A: Medium brown/black body with light able to penetrate a good bit of the beer. Nice small creamy loooking head.

S: Toasty Malts, Nutty, Slight Honey notes and chocolate.

T: Odd carbonation slightly sour bitter hoppy finish nice chocolate roasted malts honey, light coffee

M: Medium bodied with big carbonation for a porter.

O: Nice flavors up front with a surprisingly hoppy bitter finish and way too much carbonation.
