Our first run IPA, this beer is stuffed full of hops, just the way we like it. Alpha factor is a yeast mating pheromone, and without yeast, we wouldn’t have beer! Clean fermentation characteristics and light malt flavor help the hops shine their brightest, with a clean, lasting bitterness to finish.

I had this beer on-tap in a Willi Becher glass at Postdoc's Kenmore brewery.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a clear body and a thin layer of foam atop.

Smell: earthy, autumnal hops atop a moderately sweet malt base. Not too complex, but not bad.

Taste: somewhat sweet with a toasty, caramelly malt character. Hops are a little earthy and resiny, and bitterness is moderate. A decent middle of the road IPA.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a perfectly cromulent IPA, but probably not one I'd order again.

Thanks to snaotheus for this gem.
Fluffy head abounds!. Fantastic retention with clumpy lacing.
Nose is begins with an initial pop of citrus zest but then it takes a nice green turn, like really green. Weedy.
Flavor follows that dank dominance with a grassy and citrusy backside. But the weed note is so engaging.
Mouthfeel is just shy of medium with decent carbonation. Smooth bitter finish.
Overall, if you like it green, this is your Alpha.

Pours a clear golden honey with a finger of rocky head that settles to a thin cap with some lacing. Faint citrus aroma. Malty up front with some bitterness on the end.

Six pack of cans picked up at the Postdoc tap room in Redmond, Washington.
Canned on 09/27/19. Poured in to a pint glass.

Look- Crystal clear darker copper color, modest white head that slowly dissipates, a good bit of lacing. Light carbonation streaming as it sits.

Smell- Pithy citrus (grapefruit, orange and lemon/lime), pine, caramel malts. A bit of stone fruit and tropical fruit, light grassy/floral notes.

Taste- Much like the nose, a little sweet at first then the hops kick in the bitterness, pretty well balanced.

Feel- Medium bodied, very smooth with a dry, lingering bitter finish. Moderate carbonation on the tongue.

O- A really solid take on an old school NW IPA. It's a pain going through downtown Redmond to get to their taproom though, so I'm not sure how often I'll be coming back to this one.

Color is a quite lovely dark amber, with plenty of foam in the Stella Artois goblet. Smooth and malty, followed by the hoppy bitterness. Flavors of melon and grapefruit. Some sweetness and a touch of orange peel.

Pleasant aromas of dark grainy funk and ripe honeydew melon. Overall this is a traditional robust IPA with a woody, bitter bite. From the 32 oz growler filled at Railroad Market in Burlington.
