Features hints of chocolate or coffee flavor, low hop bitterness and a dry finish. Perfect with sausage and onions or a mushroom and goat cheese toast.

Good robust Schwarzbier, my first beer from this brewery. I bought a can at Half Time distributors in Mamaroneck NY while on a short trip. Poured into a pilsner glass, this beer is a fairly dense dark brown color with just a bit of reddish highlights coming through. The head was large and frothy with a dark cream color and good retention. Lots of foamy lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste featured plenty of toasted, bready malt and a little bitterness in the finish. Very tasty!!! Mouthfeel was rich for a lager and crisp and refreshing. A bit more robust and satisfying than many Schwarzbiers I have sampled. THis is well worth trying!!!

A: Chocolatey brown color with garnet on the edges; good clarity. Minimal khaki head, which fades pretty quickly without a trace.
M: Smooth, med-light body; med-high carbonation. Quite sessionable although the malt can linger and grow heavy.
S/T: Chocolate rice krispies, raisin granola bar, monkey bread with a black bottom - light on sweetness, graham cracker. Light doughiness, health muffins (donut over biscuit), cocoa dust; light apple esters with lighter spice-pine hops quickly overshadowed by a light blonde roast.
Excellent hue to the beer. Lacks in head, and consequently aroma. Mellow roast, doughy malt, and fruit esters keep the drinking experience light and sessionable.
