12 ounce can into a pint glass. Golden orange pour with a nice lingering cap of foam and a touch of haze. Notes of citrus hops on the nose but not a lot of variety. Light citric malt flavor profile that follows the aroma in a sense. Decent as expected feel but offers a quick close with a hint of spice. Overall a decent session but lacks a bit in the variety department.

Too malty for me to be good. I can handle a malty beer but this one is just drug down from an ipa with this profile. Found this one to be a slightly bumpy, not smooth ride.

Up front taste not terrible...but the after taste is like you took a hit off a unfiltered Pal Mal. Not good.

I grabbed a Southern Tier variety pack. Part of it is the Smooth Rider session IPA. It's a 4.8 ABV, marketed as an easy drinker. Unfortunately, all I get is water with a little bit of hop aftertaste. This has the body of water and a very slight hoppy bitterness on its way out. Do better Southern Tier.

Clear orangey-gold, with 1/2 finger of off-white head.
Smell is orange rind, tangerine, hint of pine, and light honey/malt. Smells like an old-school DIPA, but with a bit more fresh citrus, and no booziness.
Taste is orange rind, pine, and slight malt sweetness. Similar to aroma, but drier, as might be expected with a lower abv.
Feel is light, but not watery, with moderate very fine carbonation, and a dry finish.
Overall, it is essentially a session version of old-school IPAs, or DIPAs. A nice take on session IPA. I think the little bit of fresh citrus flavor makes the difference, especially as it's tangerine, rather than grapefruit. (I do like the straight-up-grapefruit-juice types, but......) I'd grab a 12pk or 15 pk if I saw it.
