12 oz can poured into a tulip glass. This is one of the better mass-produced fruited sours I've had. Tart lemon flavor along with dark berry, with a light but not thin malt base. Nothing fancy, just a tasty (and affordable!) summer beer.

Getting us through the dog days of summer, Southern Tier rewards the awaken with a blackberry lemonade inspired tart ale that's worth crawling out of bed.
Bright and golden-orange in color, Early Bird casts a lofty white froth along with a moderate tone of fruit tartness, berry ripeness and a citrusy twang. Malt sweetness splashes the early palate with suggestions of honey, caramel and nectar before a more citrusy turn is taken. Lemon along with green apple bring a natural tartness but the additions of more lemon and blackberry gives that summer refreshing finish.
Medium bodied, the ale isn't quite a sour ale but is more than just fruit beer, the session leaves the palate wanting more dryness, briskness and acidity. But if it's the first beer of the day, it's forgivable. Worms are so overrated anyway.

Pours a hazy orange. Thick foam. Lemonade aroma. Heavy sour lemon body. Light blackberry finish. Good flavor. Not too artificial. A good summer brew.

Quite a good ale not aggressively sour with notes of sour blackberry and lemonade and mild grassy body. A bit lighter than the porch rocker that I enjoy from, Samuel Adams. Very smooth. Drinkable easy to crush
