Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is deep ruby color boardering on brown. The head is small and fades rather fast to leave some streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a bready and doughy smell that has a good sum of caramel and molasses sweetness. Along with these smells comes a little bit of grain and some dark fruits of plum and raisin.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather malty and sweet taste with tons of caramel, molasses, brown bread, and fruity flavors of cherry, plum, and raisin. With these tastes, comes a little bit of roast. As the taste advances more and more sweet flavors of fruit and molasses come to the tongue. At the same time a very light herbal taste joins in, and with a moderate boozy taste, it leaves one with a warming, rich and malty sweet taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the rich sweet and malty flavors mixed with the bit of alcohol, the feel is perfect and makes for a slow sipper.
Overall – Quite rich, roasty, and quite tasty. A good example of what a dopplebock should be. Big, sweet, malty, slightly roasty, and hard hitting but drinkable. A rather flavorful brew.

12 oz can poured into pilsner glass.
A: Slightly hazy amber caramel body with very little to no head.
S: Deep doughy breads, caramel, toffee, burnt sugars, a light raisin smell plays throughout the smell.
T: Rich caramel toffee and a deep sweet breads flavor upfront, As it works through the middle a lot if the burnt sugar taste comes out and it finishes surprisingly subtle with just a lingering of malts.
M: Medium to fuller body good carbonation about to be expected from the style.
O: This is a nice doppelbock everything in its place, very nice.
