Hey Bear!

If you're like me and were out in the National Parks recently, you know to not only say this, but to find something to kick back with after hiking through their territory. Obtained at the Market Place in West Yellowstone, Montana, this fit the latter bill perfectly as it was a lovely Big Sky take on a European style!

Golden and bright in hue, this had tons of foamy head topping it off as it never fully dissipated. A nice amount of soapy lacing stuck around in the middle of my pint glass as the suds were extensive. Loads of bread, grain, honey, and Noble Hops were in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Some grass and corn came through in the taste once this warmed up as this was as easygoing and unassuming as a beer could be. The sweetness was present just as much in the body as in the taste with the end result being a full-bodied beer with just enough carbonation to keep it from feeling heavy-handed.

A bit of grape emerged in the aftertaste along with some sour notes, as I could have easily quaffed a few in one sitting. Canned on 9/3 of this year, this held up well and with so little noticeable alcohol in it, there wasn't much to love. Find your local member of the ursine persuasion and kick back with this, as this was indeed a Montana original!

Crystal clear yellow body, white head that slowly settles into a thick and sudsy collar. Smell and taste are clones: grains, honey, malt with hints of corn, and trace amount of lemon, but the middle does have that macro bloating. The finish though is very crisp and elevating, sets it apart from craft-macro summer kolsch beers. Forgettable

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned on date is badly corrupted.

Looks brilliant in the glass. Crystal clean light golden body. Good slow streams of carbonation replenish a small white head leaving scattered lacing.

Faintly musty grainy aroma.

On tasting it's a clean beer, good honey touch, no bad aftertaste you sometimes get, though there is the faintest of metallic touches on the tip of the tongue.

Mouth a solid medium, finish lightly sweet with a grain undercurrent.

Overall, this is a well made, quite tasty kolsch, happy to have another in reserve.

a popular summer offering from these guys, super light, clean, and drinkable to the max, a nice way to break up some heavier hoppier beers we were pounding during this session. some of me loves how minimal this all is, how they took the honey down to dry, and how snappy and refreshing it drinks, but the other part of me wants the kolsch to be a little more flavorful, more obvious german malt and yeast character, this seems kind of dumbed down on the base, almost too light, we dont really get the usual kolsch elements, and its not because the honey overwhelms them or anything, its just a little safe, a little too light, but as like a clean and tidy blonde ale with just a bit of honey character, it rules! pale in color, shiny yellow with pretty good clarity and a bone white head, fizzy carbonation tickles my nose as i take in the aroma of floral honey, biscuity european malt, and clean minerality. the flavor is similarly direct, the honey is fermented down pretty good, so this never gets sweet, but just enough of the honey taste remains, almost all on the finish. a slightly crackery pils malt layer is here, but the grain is close to sterile in this, and the fermentation doesnt have a lot of flavor, but this is crisp and clean and pure and patient tasting like a lager, with a very dry finish. summery and crushable, but i would drink this all year round. this is the kind of beer i have no interest in comparing to the best beers in the world, but in its own peer group, it stands out as professionally made and well refined. keep them coming!

Pours a foggy dark-straw color with a finger of white foam. Head retention is okay with a ring of lacing lasting a long while. Aroma is biscuity, bready, wafery, crackery malts with a hint of honey sweetness and spicy hops. Yeast is lightly forward with a doughy, bready consistency. Flavor profile continues the light biscuity, bready, wafery, crackery malts with very light sweetness. Mouth feel is a soft, but crisp, effervescence, setting up a firm, but delicate, texture. Thickness is medium-thin. Overall, light and tight with a hit of flavor. Lawnmower beer with a twist.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.

Appearance – The beer is served a golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather slowly over time to leave a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass
Smell – The aroma of the brew a mix of grainy malt and a bit of honey sweetness. Along with these smells are some light aromas of hay and a floral smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and slightly grainy taste that has a little bit of honey and orange sweetness upfront. As the taste advances the honey gets a more potent, but never becomes too overpowering. Toward the end some light floral hop and grass tastes come to the tongue, leaving one with a slightly grainy, and lightly sweet, but clean taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the medium side in terms of thickness and chewiness with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of honey, grain, and light hop the feel is rather well done and makes for keeping this an easy drinker.
Overall – A rather easy drinking and fairly balances brew overall. This is a well done summer style brew, easy to drink, moderate in alcohol, flavorful, but yet not too overwhelming. The flavor profile, feel, and smell make this one a good one.
