Bottle at share, courtesy of JohnGalt1. Foggy golden pour, thin layer of white foam. Tart, fruity aroma, stone fruit. Taste is sour, apricots, funky, barrel notes.

2020 vintage, neat little cork and cage package, rad these guys are doing some beers like this. this is pale orange and hazy, super fizzy liquid but not holding much head after a second. it smells a lot more sour than it tastes and my mouth is immediately watering. the apricot seems fresh and obvious and this seems slightly more acetic than the best lambics, but there is definitely a lot of proper elements here and this is complex on the fermentation side and very woody and mature to me. the flavor isnt as sharp as it smells which i am thankful for. the funk is high here too, and this is obviously well aged. the fruit is fresh and real to me which i love, fuzzy and fleshy and ripe, climaxing toward the finish but present through the whole drink with notes of white wine and oak tannins swirling around the apricot most of the way. a little raw on the grain side, wheaty and fuller feeling, but with all the bubbles it doesnt drink heavy in the least. very tastefully done overall, a huge leap forward in ambition too from what they are most known for, and i love the evolution in this direction. looking forward to trying more beers from this series, this was a treat, great apricot profile in a mature and nuanced base wild brew, awesome.
