really neat beer, and despite it being a little too sour to really drink much of, there is a lot to like about this. for one, i think its a mighty authentic expression of rhubarb in a beer, its astringent and sharp like that, juicy though too, really natural and forward. i was a little worried the raspberries might crowd it out, but their tartness actually accentuates the rhubarb, and they are very natural too, to me way behind the rhubarb, a smart edition, important even. the other thing i like about it is the price, really affordable, especially for the cork and cage setup, and for 20 months in a barrel, thats more than generous, and i appreciate it. i like the ferment and the souring, its just run a little too far, this is overly acidic with the natural sourness of the rhubarb and raspberry, and i am glad to be sharing the small bottle, but the flavors are excellent. i am stoked on the funk too, some bretty character in with all the acid, and its woody too, very mature, vinous as well, complex beyond where berliners normally get to. good carbonation too. overall a solid offering, unique and flavorful, especially at this price. these guys have been doing some really fun stuff this summer, their sours are way cool!
