cool version of this funky gose series, 2021 vintage, guess i had no idea there were some many variants on this over the years, really fun. this is affordable, unique, and well made, more interesting than most others in terms of the ferment too, its only lightly sour, lactic and fairly clean and lemony up front, but more wild and funky in the actual fermentation, not sure if there is some brett in here getting set up, or if it has an almost farmhouse vibe to it, but i appreciate it not being another samey kettle sour overall. there is a little pink color to this one, a big of wheaty density, not a ton of lasting head but it stays fizzy and lively to drink. i get the sweet strawberry in the nose, a little jammy, and the tangy tannic vibe from the other berries, less identifiable to me than the strawberry, all of it enhanced by the salt in here, which is significant. the flavor is more balanced between the fruits, some blackberry jam intensity later on, and a definite coriander note that flatters all of this, almost a belgian wit element to it, keeping it interesting. its not over fruited, feels drier by the end, and i can taste and feel plenty of starchy wheat malt beneath it all. nice beer, not immaculately refined but i dont need it to be, i like the high minerality from the salt and i love the constant experimentation with this base beer. really tasty!
