The Devil House Black Sour starts out as our rich, malty porter which then spent nearly 2 years in Westland Whiskey barrels that previously held Flanders style red ale. This combination produces a black, slightly bitter beer with flavors from wild yeast and a tart finish. The “devil house” is an ode to a classic NE neighborhood residence that had bicycles across the roof and is featured in our porter label. Those bicycles now have a permanent home atop the brewery.
