Bottle to nonic pint glass, the appearance was a pale yellow color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off fairly quick. Sliding lace. The aroma had some sweet to spicy grains, light toast, floral sweetness and rye sweetness. Subtle earthy notes. The flavor leaned towards the sweet side through all of the previously mentioned aromas. Damp flower sort of aftertaste and finish. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, wishing the rye had the spicy component coming out and also wishing the rye had more presence, but not a bad beer. Thanks Mom and Dad.

An old world beer style presumably made with old world grain. I have to try that.
I left the dregs in the bottle, so the pour yielded a bright, pale golden beer with a short lived fizzy head.
Interesting nose with a lot going on. Zesty lemon peel, pepper, faint banana, and wheaty note that I don't think I've found in a saison before.
As I said, lots going on and it works.
This is tasty, but I don't think it tastes quite as good as it smells. The citrus is more subdued and a tart wheatiness is fairly prominent. This is definitely an unusual if not unique flavor In my experience. There is also a lingering mineral-y biscuit flavor that I like. The carbonation came fast and furious, so after 10 minutes or so this was a bit too still.
Overall I'm diggin' this one. It's dry the way I like my saisons and quite a departure from normal. Definitely recommended.
