Lot's of peppery, spicy yeast notes slightly overshadowing a fruity under layer. Mouth feel is dry but not astringent. Finishes fairly clean. Slight alcohol warming.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with sustained nice carbonation and great lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, saison yeast, peppery spice, light lemon tartness and a hint of funk. Flavor is wheat and grainy malt with a little huskiness, light apple, pear and lemon, pepper; finishes with light hop bitterness, residual grainy malt; leaning dry, but with a slight sweetness. Medium bodied with sharp peppery carbonation that meld well with the light pepper in the flavor. A nicely made traditional grainy malt saison with pleasant hints of fruit and spice. I was relieved that the tartness in the aroma was only a mild lemon tartness in the flavor, supported well by the malt. The flavor thins out just a little in the middle of the taste, but the lingering aftertaste redeems this with a traditional dry grainy finish with slight sweetness. Well done, I'll look for other styles from this brewery.
