Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark brown color with a little tan semi-foamy film of a head. Dissipated mildly with some light stringy lace. The aroma had some cocoa powder, earthy hops, light allspice, roasty coffee beans and a little bit of clean caramel maltiness. Light anise. The flavor tried to bring it all together and I guess mostly did - the sweet to the roast. All seemed to blend into the aftertaste decently and brought it into the finish fairly nice. The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation and ABV felt coordinated nicely as projected by the brewer. Overall, pretty good porter worthy of having again if I could get it.
