Starting with our piña colada base, we added passion fruit and key lime to bring in some bright flavors. A touch of milk sugar adds a creaminess reminiscent of a class dole whip smoothie.

Pineapple, Coconut, Passion Fruit, Key Lime, Milk Sugar

Appearance - Pours opaque and slightly dirty orange with an off-white, half finger width head that fizzes away somewhat quick, leaving behind a barren surface. No lacing.

Smell - Tart lime and pineapple, along with cream sweetness, and while the coconut is prominent, there's something a little funky about it, or maybe it's the totality of the whole thing.

Taste - Starts with coconut that displays both light toast and cream, followed quickly by a sharp lime and pineapple bite. Mid-taste brings a smack of whipped cream sweetness, which follows into the finish along with coconut, lime and pineapple. Very rich. Even the aftertaste carries a certain magnitude of strength.

Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with fair carbonation. Thick, creamy texture before a sharp, slightly dry finish.

Overall - Good, but oh boy is that a lot of coconut. It might be a bit much on a few of those ingredients, actually, because it's very rich. I would definitely enjoy it more if it were scaled down to a lesser degree, because it can get cloying within a few successive sips.

Kind of had been pushing this one back every time, but it was time to have it tonight. Not even sure what I paid for it back on what I think was Sept. 17. I think somewhere in the $4.49 range. Abnormal has sneakily became my top-rated brewery (min. 10 beers) so was looking forward to another one it is also becoming one of my favorite styles. Abnormal’s website called this, “Starting with our piña colada base, we added passion fruit and key lime to bring in some bright flavors. A touch of milk sugar adds a creaminess reminiscent of a class dole whip smoothie.” ADDITIONS: Pineapple, Coconut, Passion Fruit, Key Lime, Milk Sugar

Poured a hazy pale color with one finger of off-white fizzy head which dissipated immediately. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Good spotty lacing. Poor retention. (Sight - 3.00)

Smelled coconut, passion fruit, pineapple, orange, lemon-lime zest, peach, guava and hints of orange creamsicle. A little better out of the can with more pineapple and coconut, really getting those piña colada notes. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted even better than the nose. In order got piña colada, pineapple, coconut, passionfruit, orange, peach, guava, lemon-lime zest, orange creamsicle, fruit cup and Fruit Loops milk. That 8.7 pct. ABV was somewhat hidden. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Tart finish. (Feel - 4.25)

This one really grew on me as it went down. Taste was the best part. (Overall - 4.00)
