Misc.: Canned on March 24, 2021
Grabbed this along with a bunch of other ones on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Abnormal’s website called this beer “To celebrate our sixth year, we bring you The Sixth Course, a West Coast IIPA. Damn. I think I’ll like those hops.
Poured a light amber clear color with three fingers of white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled vanilla, caramel, oak, nuts, woody Nugget, bourbon barrel, butterscotch, dank pine, black pepper, toffee and some basement aroma. Wow. Nothing like I thought it would smell like. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Damn. Really liked this taste right from the first sip. Vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, bourbon barrel, woody Nugget, nuts, butterscotch, toffee, dank pine, Simcoe and some dark berry. Looking at hop profiles of HBC 630 and 472, was getting more 472 for sure. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Damn. Might have underrated this a tad, bit this was right up my alley. So damn good. (Overall - 4.25)
