Snuck over to Windmill Farms to pick up some Aurora Hoppyalis and The Lightest One, and a few others single cans. Abnormal’s website calls this beer “Grab your controllers and press play on this collaboration round with 8Bit Brewing. Our cheat code for this TDH IPA includes Southern Passion, Mosaic Cryo, HBC 522 and HBC 586 hops. You’ll score notes of guava, orange, mango, passionfruit and a hint of grapefruit. Enjoy with friends or in your mother’s basement.” Had to look up Southern Passion (passion fruit, guava, and coconut as well as citrus and red berries) and HBC 522 (similar to Centennial and Cascade with a mix of floral, citrus - especially orange and grapefruit), and pine needles). Have had the 586 probably 10 times before this, but was description was “mango, guava, lychee, citrus, with slight sulfur and herbal notes.”
Poured a pale-to-medium yellow semi-hazy color with one finger of fizzy off-white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Decent watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled melon, POG - passion fruit, orange, guava - mango, caramel candy squares, trash and dank pine. Looking at the HBC numbers, really got both 586 and 582. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose. In order got caramel, melon, dank pine, bitter grapefruit peel, black pepper, POG - passion fruit, orange, guava - coconut, viney berry and trash (for the haters). Looking at hop profiles, Southern Passion dominated followed by mix of HBC 586 (known to me) and HBC 522 (first time having it), and the also mentioned Mosaic. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Probably speaks more to me not being a fan of these specific hops, but not as good as I hoped. Very good overall, but not up to my normal (no pun intended) standard for Abnormal. (Overall - 3.75)

My take is very good beer. Nose is very fragrant, taste is great and a mouthfeel is superb.
