a darn good mexican style lager with agave. i was worried this would be sweet, but its all flavor. a well made base lager is the key, has to be some corn in this, pale yellow to brassy colored with an average white head and good clarity and shine. the aroma here is lightly spicy from the agave, sweet from the grain and the agave together, a little herbal and lush, aloe and cucumber even coming out, seems fresh and vibrant, simple in the best way, and i can smell just a little lager yeast in here too, doughy but clean. the flavor is a little less citrus forward and fruity than i have gotten used to in a pale mexican lager, the yeast seems less expressive and more old world european to me, although understated in here. the grain is simple, pils malt and a little corn it seems, minerals and even some terroir to the grain which is cool, the agave starts late, ramps up with a little sweetness and a floral vibe, more intense than honey but not overdosed in this, distinct from honey too in taste, very good, almost unexpectedly interesting in the finish, but not long, just exciting. the faintest cinnamon, black tea, and raisin nuances, wild. very drinkable for being as engaging as it is, light bodied but not super snappy. overall really solid, i could drink this all summer long. i have been impressed by outer light so far!
