NO can date, but picked up at the brewery a couple of weeks ago
Pours a huge frothy 2 finger head with moderate retention, fair lacing, clear pale color
Nose starts with piney hops, a bit of dank resin and spicy hop, a bit of citrus, light malt
Taste brings more f the citrus and some stone fruit before quickly turning to pine and dank hops even maybe a bit oniony, a bit of earthy spicy hops, light sweet malt just enough to support the hops, med bitterness, finishes semi dry with more spicy dank even green hop bitterness
Mouth is med bod, med carb
Overall OK, a bit too much of that dank slight oniony like hops, possibly mosaic, but either way it's OK but not great

Light yellow pour, bit of haze, rocky white head with abundant lace. Nose is citrus.
Taste is citrus, melon, water cracker, light malt. Light (leaning medium) mouthfeel. Finish shows citrus and a lagery dryness and snap

Tasted on tap at the Live Oak Brewery & Taproom.
Light straw color with a touch of haze. Snowy white head. Hoppy nose gives me pine, citrus and black pepper. Clean hops flavors of grapefruit pine and black pepper. Extremely crisp, dry mouthfeel, but still has a hint of sweetness on the tongue. Sharp bitterness is very clean as well. An unusual beer very well executed.

(8 oz flight pour at the brewery two days ago... review copied and expanded upon from notes)
notes: similar hop bite to their Pilz... sulfury, subtly smoky (or ashy?) finish... kind of a saline seashore or marshy immediate aftertaste... moderately biscuity malt vut through by bitter (radicchio), green leafy hop
recollections: it's definitely lager-like (sulfur) from its delicate, smooth flow; its thick haziness was another story... definitely hoppy, edging toward American fruity notes, but still appropriate to a lager... some of my notes are curious, especially regarding the smoke and saline (seaweed?) nuances... might have been worth a full pour on its own; a lot of little quirks going on, but it was quality (2376)

Way over carbonated. Every can has overflowed my pint glass, even on a gentle pour.wont buy this again.
Live Oak makes one of the best Hefes and pils I’ve ever had out of a Texas brewery, so it's a shame they can’t figure it out with a IPA.

Canned 1/10/24 Drank 3/1/214
Pour is a golden straw yellow with a massive rocky chalk white cap of foam. Great retention and lacing.
nose is pine, citrus, grapefruit, floral over bready malt.
Delicious. Firm bitterness mixes well with dank, citrus, grapefruit. Dry finish invites another sip
Crisp, moderately high carbonation and easy to drink. Excellent beer

Six pack of cans. Date on can: 12/11/23. First time I've seen this beer.
Pours a crystal clear golden copper with a finger thick white, frothy head on top that eventually dissipates to a thin layer with plenty of lacing as you drink. Carbonation looks moderate to low. The creamy, smaller bubble variety which I love. Looks refreshing, and not unlike a lot of other Live Oak beers. Perhaps a bit lighter than a standard IPA.
A ton of fresh hops on the nose. Very reminiscent of Fresh Cut pilsner from Peak Organic brewing. It's very fruity overall; stone fruits, citrus, some pine dankness lurking in the background. There is also a familiar sweet graininess that reminds me of other Live Oak beers.
Taste follows the nose well. Lots of fruitiness, grassiness and some pine dank towards the swallow. The malts offer a nice lightly roasted, crackery balance but mostly stay out of the way. Finishes quite bitter with lemon rind and a hint of spice on the tongue. This comes off as a very hoppy pilsner.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate, zesty carbonation; creamy, but perhaps a bit seltzer-like. There's a good amount of body here and it finishes crisp and dry, also not unlike a pilsner. Very drinkable and refreshing.
I think this might be my first Cold IPA, which, today I learned, is not the same as an IPL. As previously mentioned, my best comp is a very hopped pilsner, which luckily for me I quite enjoy. I would be happy to have this one again, a great new entry into the Live Oak repertoire, which mostly features lagers. Cheers!
EDIT: 04/19/2024. I've picked up a few six packs of this since my first review, this latest one (brewed 01/11/2024) is way more carbonated than the previous batches. Lots of large bubbles rising up, have to pour it very gently to not get a crazy head. The head retention is better than the other batches, but that's the only plus. Way too carbonated for my taste, drinks like a seltzer. No longer refreshing or creamy. Bummer. Seems like they might have some consistency issues here, or maybe they are still tweaking the recipe.
