Notes from 5/12/2020.
Poured from a 32oz crowler into a Rastal nucleated Teku glass.
The body is murky brown with 1/2 finger of beige head. Retention is average. The small head is highly unusual for Live Oak. Typically, you have a 2 to 4 fingers of head.
The intensity of aroma is low. There are notes of caramel, sweet malt, and grass.
The intensity of taste is medium. The flavor has caramel, wheat bread, roasted malt, a hint of chocolate, a light amount of hops, and a little black pepper in the end palate.
The feel is almost thick. It's creamy and has a medium level of astringency. The carbonation is low. The crowler was sealed 4 days ago. However, it seems slightly flat. That's highly unlike Live Oak and maybe the crowler wasn't properly sealed. Also, it could be my ignorance about the style.
Overall, it's delicious. I hope to try it next time it comes around to compare the carbonation level.

A silky quality rye but missing the special something to push it over the top. Still a very good Austin TX beer to enjoy.
