On tap into a tulip glass
A - Creamy head that is 1 finger in height with a bit of light froth directly under the creamy top. Head is a light khaki in color and dissipates very slowly to a creamy rim. Beer is opaque and black with no visible carbonation. 4/5
S - Aroma is very subdued with this beer. Piney hops and light bready malt come through but unfortunately not much hits my nose and allows a particular aroma to be noted. 3/5
T - Very light sweet caramel hits my tongue after a slightly watery beginning. Dark roasted malt and unsalted cracker notes come through right after the caramel slowly disappears from view. At this point the hops start come into play with notes of light herbs and pine resin gaining the most traction with just a hint of grass. There is a very light undertone of light fruit and maybe a hint of tropical but they are hard to make out. Light lingering bitterness extends past the swallow. 3.75/5
M - Light carbonation tickle up front with a light and crisp feel afterwards. Very light drying on the back end with no lingering drying after swallowing. Light and crisp, light to medium bodied. 4/5
O - Well balanced between sweet and bitter, but I really hoped for more from the aroma which is such an integral part of tasting beer. Somewhat complex in terms of number of different tasting notes but none gain the upper hand over the others so this beer can easily be paired with a variety of foods. 3.75/5
