6 June 2020 - Beer #112
Corona Day #86
Price: $19.99 at South Lyndale Liquors in Minneapolis, MN
Appearance: 4 - might be the thinnest BA imperial stout over had, very transparent brown coming out if the bottle. Tiny white head, but pretty lacing.
Nose: 4 - what's there is very nice, but there's just not much of it. Quite mild.
Taste: 4 - rather tasty. Definitely more complex than the nose let on. Can't always trust the nose. Good amount of roast, a bit of barrel. A fine brew.
Mouth: 3 - very thin and sorta flat.
Overall: 4 - I had no idea what to expect here, but I'm happy enough with it. Keep cool, Minnesota.
Stay safe out there, my friends.
Cheers!

Look: pitch black, decent sized head that dissipates rapidly.
Smell: roasted malts, chocolate, substantial booziness, faint barrel character
Taste: chocolate, alcohol heat, some oak, roasted malts, faint caramel
Feel: thicker than it poured. Pleasant surprise here, as it looked a bit watery during the pour. Creamy, thick, a touch hot.
Overall: this is a solid beer. But barrel-aged stouts are a dime a dozen. Nothing really sticks out, but overall it's pretty solid.
