750ml bottle. Waxed and capped bottle. No dating information found. Label lists ABV% as 10.8.
Amber brown colored body. Light tan, creamy head. Leaves behind webs of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, slight cocoa, bourbon oak barrel, and vanilla.
Taste of roasted malts with sweet cocoa/caramel and active bourbon oak barrel, with a touch of vanilla. Boozy dry finish.
Medium mouth feel, with slight burn in the mouth. Good carbonation.
Decent but not great barrel aged brown ale. I think the sweet notes come mostly from the barrel aging.

According to the bottle it is 7.4% + the ABV from the barrel ageing.
This beer pours a very dark brown color. The head was minimal, but there's nice carbonation in the glass. The nose is very rich with notes of the barrel it was aged in. The taste is very barrel forward. There's also hints of caramel, after the barrel hits. Maybe a bit watery feeling, but it has also a nice warmth going down. There's also a good feel of carbonation going down. Overall, a good BA beer from Montgomery Brewing, and a good NBS beer.
