From a crowler into a Forager snifter, pours a motor oily black-brown with a tight khaki 1 inch head that resides quickly. Nose is licorice, earthy and mildly spicy rye, and maybe a little chocolate. Taste follows the nose, bringing out the spice the least. Little hoppy liveliness or bite, and not too layered...but still nice and pleasantly smooth. Chewy and thick body but not too heavy.
